An apology
Before attempting to write a post positioning myself as the CEO of a make believe gadget company, I felt that doing some background research was necessary.
I took a look at 15 Excellent Corporate Blogs to Learn From on Mashable.
I also looked at Top Ten Smart CEO Blogs (You Can Learn From) and finally, Are these the 10 Best Corporate Blogs in the World?
What I came to realize is that...
Falling down the pin hole
With new social media platforms popping up every day, it’s hard to keep up. So when a friend told me about Pinterest a few months ago, I admit, I was interested but skeptical. So I checked it out as per her invitation. It seemed ‘cute’ at first and then, boom, full on addiction. I pin daily… I’m a constant ‘pinner’. I ventured down the rabbit hole and I haven’t looked back! I love this...

Play Taxi Media National Launch Party
For those who get bored easily during taxi rides, here is Play Taxi Media. This media company, which happens to be Canadian, specializes in touch screens which are mounted into head rests. The idea is that during any 10-15 minute cab ride, the screen has the travelers undivided attention. This would allow for advertisements to flow uninterrupted for the duration of the trip.
The logic seems...
Analyzing the conversation
I must admit that the thought of web analytics bores me. I have never been keen on numbers or statistics. This being said, I will attempt to recommend three useful web analytics tools for monitoring social web content.
YAHOO! Web Analytics- According to their website, this tool, “is a highly customizable enterprise analytics solution that tracks each visitor, visit and action on your...
Occupying the social web
As you may have heard, Occupy Wall Street has made its way to Toronto. This movement began as a suggestion in AdBusters, a Canadian anti-consumerist online magazine. Its popularity grew as it was endorsed by Anonymous (if you don’t know who they are, I suggest you Google them) before spreading to Facebook and Twitter.
So far the movement’s choice of communication has been through social...

Managing a community is a delicate business
This example of community management came to me as I was flipping through the latest edition of Flare magazine. Towards the end I noticed a full page ad for Women’s Health Matters a community hosted by the Women’s College Hospital. My first thought was, “Wow, this is really cool”, and then that thought became, “I totally have to blog about this!” So here I am.
If anyone ever...
It's not me, it's you.
From Foursquare-Infos.
Foursquare- The best way to creep the people around you and let everyone know where you are. Good for the kid at heart and people who enjoy free stuff. I feel that Foursquare is not for me personally. If I am going into a restaurant, I already know I’m going to spend a certain amount of money, and I don’t need a coupon for a free something. I also don’t like the free...

More informed or just picky readers?
After reading, “Social Networks Transforming How Canadians Get the News”, I can’t help but wonder if this generation is more informed than the one before us? Or have we just become picky readers allowing others to decide what news is worthy?
For the latest news I find myself going to Twitter, Facebook, or even Linked In to read the headlines. I feel that I’m not deciding for myself what to...

Confession of a social media impostor...
I surprised myself when I came to the realization, that this is my first blog. Actually, this is my first time posting anything on a blog. I usually read blogs others have written. I find it interesting that I never once actively participated in blogging, or even commenting.
Due to this revelation, I have decided that I have been, until this point, a social media impostor. And from now on, I...
